What's happening at Easter 2026? - Events in the Ruhr region
Easter eggs are being dyed and distributed in the garden, the chocolate bunnies are covered in gold foil on the table and it smells like yeast plait. It's beginning to look a lot like Easter! 🐣✨
But even if you don't like eggs and don't have much else to do with the originally religious festival, you can still have a really good time on the days off at Easter in the Ruhr region. Yes, definitely! The Ruhr region also has a few classic events to offer at Easter 2025. A real Easter evergreen is the Easter funfair in Bochum, which runs from April 4-12 and features rollercoasters, carousels and a small Easter firework display! 🎆✨ In some cities, there are of course also traditional Easter bonfires on Easter Saturday!
2. are there also parties in the Ruhr area at Easter?
Yes - even if Good Friday with its ban on dancing is also an exception in the Ruhr region. Especially on Easter Sunday, many clubs dance until the morning🪩 There you can party into Easter Monday! 🥳
3. which events in the Ruhr region at Easter 2026 should I definitely not miss?
Of course, it all depends on what you fancy at Easter! We definitely recommend the street food market in Duisburg. But there are also a few nice plays in the theater in the Ruhr area in 2026 for a visit with family or friends. 🤝
